The Covenant is a movie in the vein of the lost boys or the latest blade and UNDERWORLD series in that its primary audience is the teen to twentysomething beginning who like their horror "light" and their work "hard" and director Renny Harlin book about both. Like his previous action hybrids horror DEEP BLUE SEA, A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 4: THE DREAM MASTER, The Exorcist: The beginning and MINDHUNTERS, Harlin is very good action, but when it is the horror that is a little lacking but unlike Exorcist: The Beginning and Nightmare 4 (which needed a little more horror) delievers what he set out to do – a non-stop action movie that just happens to have a bit of horror trends.
History, well as pedestrians and not entirely unoriginal, flows well even with the romantic "is peppered throughout history. This aspect of the film is never too long and is well captured by the no name actors. Everything is kept real and never ventures into STAR WARS: EPISODE 2-3 territory.
Special effects by Luma Pictures and Digital Dimension are top notch. Harlin was brought in the best people to work its engine and Exorcist: The days counting. They have also played a role in films such as Silent Hill, The Cave, Underworld: Evolution, BLADE: TRINITY, and the last two Final Destination films.
The only thing that prevents it from being anything more than a blip on the radar is that the film, he plays too hard with the PG-13 rating and the lack of raising the danger in the film as seen in the movie Blade, Underworld series, Final Destination series, and The Lost Boys.
It is a film that, although good fun and does not offer much to the audience its targeted worms that have seen better films that are not afraid to go off.

At the exorcist curse never affected the viewers?
I know there are rumors of suspicious deaths and fires around the filiming of the exorcist, and around the players and the team, but viewers say they have been cursed?
It was just the publicity stunt to attract more people to watch the movie. There is an accident on the sets at the video but they reported as a curse. There were some people who fainted / felt himself possessed by the devil, after seeing Guy Exorcist. One also attacked screen theater to kill the demon.
